Trust Me I’m Lying: Confessions of a Media Manipulator Book Trailer
Hi everybody at Educate Your Life. Hope all of you are having a great week all over the world. I’ve been busy with some new projects at Futurist Business Ltd. here in London. Today I thought I should share with you guys one of the interesting videos I just watched few minutes back. This may be interested to anyone who has a deep passion for marketing and want to do something during their life which is going to be remarkable.
I have read the summery of the book “Trust me I’m lying” by Ryan Holiday couple of weeks back but still couldn’t get the time to read it as I’ve been finishing “Getting Things Done” By David Allen and another interesting book named “The Charged” by Brendon Burchard which are two of the greatest books I have read. So when I complete reading the book of Mr. Holiday, will update you guys soon. Today I wanted to share this story about how Ryan Holiday become a media genius and how he has created a great lifestyle for himself at a age of 24. He was a drop out at the age of 19 and by 20 he has been able to get the director of marketing position at American Apparel. He explains that he started to really learn after the day he dropped out of college and that’s where he determined to start his life with the “DIY” (Do It Yourself) mentality.
Pretty much out of your thinking right? When I was growing up our parents always advised us learn hard by attending college and then a get a degree and then a get an postgraduate degree, which I have got 
and then you will get a good job from a great employer. Trust me that does not happen easily anymore. There are more people with higher academic qualifications who are unemployed in region where I live at the moment. To tell all of our Asia pacific readers, here in the United Kingdom I would say 90% or even more of the 21 – 28 age group has a degree or in most cases the people who are passed 24 has postgraduate degree from a higher academic institution. Looking at most of the people I meet in the European sector I have realised the reason is they are lack of a great skill which an employer or the market is willing to hire. So the main core consideration of anyone who is committed to create a world class lifestyle is, build up YOUR skills set and then you can stand out from the crowd.

If I share my personal experience and tell you the truth (Without Lying) I would say 80% of the skills I learned in life are done by me through reading and associating people who had already build up businesses. I will be honest and tell you that I don’t have any issue with anyone trying to get degree! I even got a Masters Degree from a highly reputable University in the United Kingdom, but mostly what it gave me was a good time and the opportunity to network with friends who still haven’t found their life’s mission (not all). However it was an amazing time going to college and living at the University halls and I wouldn’t tell anyone if you can afford it, not to do it! It was an amazing time of life But the important thing is that find what you really want to do with your life and build up the career and lifestyle around it.
During the conversation Mr Holiday got a question from a person asking ” If someone drops out of college or never had the opportunity to got to University? How can you develop your network or get proper feed back you used to get form a professor ” His answer was “I used every opportunity which came across my life as an opportunity to develop connections with people from all walks of life. He describes some amazing strategies for life on how to get a job straight out of college, and how to get in touch with people whom you may think as out of your leagues.
